galaxynoteiidecIf you are still holding onto the Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung, you could be downloading and installing the leaked version of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update right now.  According to an online source, the update has been leaked ahead of the official release allowing users who cannot wait to get the new software installed before the rest.  The download will bring features that appear on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 and that could be enough for some to jump in with both feet and get the download going.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99$49.99 – $699.00.

The update has been rumored for weeks and originally the update was going to be coming in October according to Samsung who mentioned it at an event that took place in September.  Samsung confirmed the update and now it is just a matter of time before it is officially released.  Samsung said that the update was going to be essential for the Galaxy Gear to work with the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 devices.  The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update also brings the Bluetooth LE feature to the device.  According to one carrier timeline, the update might have come as late as November or December.

One Galaxy Note II user over at the XDA Developers forum has posted the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for download in a test form for the GT-N7100.  The model number is actually the European version of the device and according to the user, the update is just a test build and will not likely be close to what is officially released by Samsung soon.  Some might find downloading the software a good way to test out the new features, since they have been waiting long enough for the software.

Because this download is a test build and not one that is officially released by Samsung, it is highly recommended that you do not download and install it unless you are absolutely sure of what you are doing.  Severe and permanent damage is a possibility if something goes wrong and in most cases the download would void the warranty on your device.  If you do decide to get the installation process underway, you should backup all of your files just to be safe should something go wrong with the process.  If you are unsure of the process, you should simply wait for the official version as it should not be long before it arrives.
