galaxynote3Samsung has seen very good success with its Galaxy line of smartphones, phablets and tablets and when it comes to getting them updated, the company is fairly quick about it compared to other companies on the market.  The Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most popular phablets from last year and according to leaked reports, the device is set to be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat soon for those on the AT&T network.  The leaked information will actually allow you to download and install the latest version of the device before it is available to the public.

Samsung started rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat software to devices earlier this month and because the Galaxy Note 3 came in two different models for other regions of the world, Samsung released the international version first.  Samsung is very good at keeping things quiet until the last possible minute before the release of software and devices, so details for the new software are a little hard to come by.  According to one online source, there is at least one Galaxy Note 3 on the AT&T network is updated with the Android 4.4 KitKat software.

Samsung and AT&T have been quiet about the update, so right now the information is considered unofficial, but many are expecting AT&T to make an announcement very soon.  The leaked version of the Android 4.4 KitKat software comes from the same user that leaked the Galaxy S4 version of the Android operating system.  The user leaks the software via an Android developer forum, posting it online for all to check out at their own discretion.  The issue that comes into play with leaked software is that if you are not familiar with downloading and installing files manually, you should not attempt it.

It would be better for you to wait until the official version is sent to your phone, even if the software build is exactly the same.  Sprint, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile have not made any comment about the Galaxy Note 3 they offer, but the odds are pretty good that the companies will sound off as soon as the update goes public from AT&T.  Typically, those in the United States are behind the eight ball when it comes to updates, as companies tend to issue the software to international versions first.
