lgoptimusgproIf you happen to be on the market for your next mobile weapon of choice and are actually looking for a handset with a massive display, your choices are a bit limited. Well, you can go for the Samsung Galaxy S IV which happens to be the most popular handset in the market today but if its 5.0-inch display isn’t enough for your needs and you want a larger screen real estate, then it’s either the Samsung Galaxy Note II or the LG Optimus G Pro as your best bets. These two devices both have 5.5-inch displays and have enough fire-power under their respective hoods to start World War III but if price point is one of your considerations, you better take a closer look at the version of the LG Optimus G Pro being offered by AT&T in our side of the world.

At the moment, AT&T currently has a deal that will give you the chance to get your hands on the LG Optimus G Pro at a much cheaper price point. With this offer, you have the option of snagging the LG phablet at a sub-$80 price point which, at the moment, is very tempting given the impressive resume of the handset. This price point is being offered through the authorized online resellers of the wireless provider and those interested in getting one of these babies will also be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with Ma Bell as part of the package.

For those unfamiliar with what the LG Optimus G Pro has to offer, the handset is LG’s entry to the phablet competition and is designed to compete directly with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The Samsung phablet has totally dominated the phablet landscape but the entry of the LG Optimus G Pro in the market has started to turn the tables because the LG handset comes with a more impressive spec sheet compared to the Samsung behemoth.

Unveiled back in February and made available in the shelves for public consumption in April, the LG Optimus G Pro has dimensions of 150.2 x 76.1 x 9.4 mm and it tips the scales at a rather hefty 172 grams. Of course, it goes without saying that the LG Optimus G Pro also boasts of a solid build quality expected in a high-end smartphone.

Under the hood, the operation of the LG Optimus G Pro is powered by a QualComm APQ8064T SnapDragon chipset while the computing muscle it needs for a flawless performance is generated by a quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor and a staggering 2GB of RAM. Aside from coming with 32GB of onboard storage, the LG Optimus G Pro also supports memory expansion via its dedicated microSD card slot. As for its display, the handset comes with a 5.5-inch True Full HD IPS Plus LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels while its camera department is also very impressive with a main 13MP shooter at its back panel and a secondary 2.1MP snapper in its front bezel.
