galaxynoteiidecThe Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone/tablet hit the AT&T wireless network in the United States on November 9 of last year. That handset delivers a split screen feature which allows you to carry on two different operations, or integrate the two screens together. The device also offers a powerful quad core processor, one of the largest high resolution screens found on any smartphone, and a smart stylus S Pen which delivers native handwriting recognition technology.

The Multi-Window split screen feature functions exactly as it sounds. You can divide the large high-resolution screen into two equal parts. You can then perform entirely different functions or operations on each half, but you can also more importantly integrate the two pieces together. Perhaps you are composing e-mails on one half of your screen, and want to send a link, photo or some other data. Simply search the web on the second half of the screen, find the content you are looking for, drag-and-drop into your e-mail on the first half of your display, and send.

This can drastically improve productivity, and offers a limitless number of multimedia applications. You can also interact with your handset in several ways. There are many voice activated and voice driven commands which the Note II understands, and you can obviously use your finger or the S Pen to navigate the device by touching the screen. The Galaxy Note II also delivers a neat hover feature which gives you a list of options when your fingertip or the smart stylus hovers just above the screen.

The Amazon Wireless store is one of the largest online sellers of smartphones, and recently the AT&T Galaxy Note II was spotted with a $199 on contract price tag. This is lower than the recent carrier price, and comes in advance of several smartphones which will hit the mobile marketplace in the second and third quarter of this year. Smartphone manufacturers and wireless carriers tend to lower price tags on popular and best selling handsets at this time every year, in the hopes of moving stock before the new handsets roll out. This obviously creates a great buying opportunity for the smartphone shopper.

The AT&T Galaxy Note II delivers the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system in a slim 0.37 inch (9.3 mm) profile. The screen is a 5.55 inch Super AMOLED model, with 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution, delivering 16 million colors in a 16 to 9 aspect ratio. The handset offers up to 15.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and is powered by a quad core Exynos 1.6 GHz CPU. 2.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is 16 GB of data storage. The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder allows you to record video in 1,080P HD resolution, and a microSD slot is also present.
