galaxynoteiiverizonThe Samsung Galaxy Note II phablet is the first smartphone from that wireless manufacturer to deliver the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box. That OS provides a smoother and faster overall experience, camera upgrades and an updated Google Now. On the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States the Galaxy Note II delivers simultaneous voice and data access, allowing you to jot down directions or messages in your own handwriting with the integrated smart stylus S Pen while in the middle of a voice call.

You can also send e-mails or text messages, download applications and surf the web while simultaneously watching your favorite videos and movies. That is thanks to the quad core processor and 2.0 GB of RAM system memory which make multitasking possible. Slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), the Verizon Galaxy Note II delivers the largest high resolution display found on any mobile handset. That 5.55 inch Super AMOLED screen offers scratch resistance with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and the handset’s touchscreen is aligned in a “true HD” 16 to 9 aspect ratio.

Resolution runs high at 720 x 1,280 pixels, with more than 16 million different colors delivered at a rate of 265 pixels over every inch of display space. Native handwriting recognition technology is integrated into the handset and the accompanying S Pen smart stylus, and you can also navigate the handset with capacitive, multitouch gestures.

Talk time is generous at 15.0 hours after a single charge of the extended life 3,100 mA battery on board the handset. Standby battery power runs approximately 12.0 days, and the impressive microchip package chosen by Samsung is an Exynos 4 (4412) suite of chips. Included is the powerful quad core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex A9 central processor, as well as a quad core GPU. The 16 GB Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G currently retails for under $200 on contract during the annual year end Amazon Wireless sale.

That handset includes a microSD slot for storage expansion capabilities, and NFC (Near Field Communications) functionality is supported out-of-the-box. Facing the Verizon Galaxy Note II user up front is a 1.9 megapixel chat cam with video call support, and integrated into the back of the large screen phablet is a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. That rear device has an extensive feature package, and records video at a high resolution rate of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD).
