At many places around the world this time of year, people are celebrating the holiday season. One reason to celebrate if you are a smartphone shopper currently looking for an alternative to the Android and Apple operating systems is with the Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone. The screen refreshes at 2.5 times faster than the typical smartphone display, and the new a hypersensitive touchscreen technology even allows you to use the handset while wearing gloves. The screen on board is a large 4.50 inch with 1,280 x 760 pixel resolution, delivering more than 16 million separate colors at a rate of 332 pixels per inch. The Nokia ClearBlack PureMotion HD+ display technology provides excellent viewing in low light situations, at extreme angles and in direct sunlight. Corning has added a layer of Gorilla Glass 2 for scratch resistance.

The Nokia Lumia 920 4G handset delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) support for wireless applications, and the popular social networking titans Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Picasa have been pre-installed and are ready for use out-of-the-box. You can squeeze as much as 17.0 hours of talk time and 16.7 days of standby power out of a single battery charge, and the Nokia Lumia 920 4G for AT&T delivers 32 GB of internal data storage plus an additional 7 GB of SkyDrive cloud storage.

The hardware package on board is anchored by a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, with an Adreno 225 GPU joining that central processor in the Qualcomm MSM8960 chip set with LTE radio. The Lumia 920 contains 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, and the rear facing 8.7 megapixel camcorder adds a little style with a ceramic zirconium camera detailing package. Up front facing the Nokia Lumia 920 4G user is a 1.3 megapixel chat cam with video call support, and a built-in music player is also present.
