The Nokia Lumia 900 4G Windows Phone 7.5 is one of the first mobile handsets with LTE connectivity that also employs a Windows Phone operating system. The handset also delivers the largest display that smartphone manufacturer Nokia has ever built, and the camera combo is accentuated by a Carl Zeiss optics package. The Lumia 900 first arrived with a three digit price tag, but AT&T, the exclusive home of the Nokia Lumia 900 4G, recently lowered the retail price to $19 on contract at select retailers.

Version 7.5 Mango of the Windows Phone operating system is present out-of-the-box, and the handset measures 5.03 x 2.70 x 0.45 inches (127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm), weighing 5.64 ounces (160 g). The 4.30 inch AMOLED screen employs Nokia ClearBlack display technology to provide excellent viewing in direct sunlight and at extreme angles, and visuals are rendered in more than 16 million separate colors. Pixel density runs 217 pixels per inch for an overall screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and multitouch gestures are used to navigate the handset. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass offers scratch resistance and glare reduction.

A full 7.0 hours of talk time are achieved from a single charge of the 1,830 mA battery on board, and standby time runs 14.6 days. Continuing in the hardware profile is a Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon microchip package that includes a speedy 1.4 GHz Scorpion central processor, while a separate Adreno 205 GPU handles all graphics duties. The Nokia Lumia 900 4G contains 512 MB of RAM memory and 16 GB of built-in storage.

The Carl Zeiss optics package built into the 8.0 megapixel camcorder on the back of the handset contains an f2.2/28 mm lens, and allows for double wide video and snapshot capture. That rear facing camcorder comes equipped with a dual LED flash and autofocus, touch to focus, video stabilizing, exposure control and Geo tagging features. Video recording is offered at 720P HD and 30 frames per second, and the front facing VGA quality chat cam also offers video call support.

In the multimedia package on board the Nokia Lumia 900 4G Windows phone is a music player that filters by album, artist or play list,  and a YouTube video player. Popular online destinations Flickr, Twitter and Picasa have been pre-installed and are ready for use out-of-the-box. The handset is offered in your choice of either a Matte Black, Cyan (think light blue) or Pink chassis.  You can buy the Nokia Lumia 900 starting at $19.
