As of the moment, the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but only Google developer devices such as the LG Nexus 4 running a pure, fully-stock version of Android with no overlaid custom user interface has gotten a taste of this Android version. All other devices in the market on the other hand are waiting for its predecessor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to land.

At the moment, mostly high-end flagship devices have so far gotten cranked up to Android 4.1 since in the Android scheme of things, these devices have enough firepower in their internals to handle Jelly Bean with no issues at all that’s why devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X usually get first dibs when a new version of Android is released.

However, there are also cases wherein slightly older, still capable devices also are in line to get updated. Take the case of the original Samsung Galaxy Note for example. Back when Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was unveiled, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II will first get updated to the Jelly Bean but the Galaxy S II and the original Galaxy Note will also get a tasty treat of the update.

At that time, there was no mention as to when exactly the Android 4.1 refresh will be rolled out to the slightly older handsets but Samsung announced that it would be in the near future. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note, the handset already got delayed in getting upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich so users of the handset are again nervous about the prospect of waiting longer for Jelly Bean to make its way to the device.

However, it looks like users of the original Samsung Galaxy Note wouldn’t have to wait much longer for Jelly Bean to land. As it stands, the official website of Samsung Ukraine has already released information about the rollout and even mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy Note will get upgraded to Jelly Bean on March 1, 2013. Pretty specific if you ask me although there is a disclaimer there that “Dates are tentative and can shit without notice”. So there – we now have a rough time frame of when Jelly Bean hopefully will land on the Samsung Galaxy Note.

As for the first generation Samsung phablet, the device has a QualComm MSM8655 SnapDragon chipset under the hood to power its operation while its dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor and 1GB of RAM work together to ensure that the handset’s performance is always snappy and buttery smooth. Storage space on the Samsung Galaxy Note is pegged at 16GB but the device also has a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. As for its display, the Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a massive 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED panel with a 1280 x 800 resolution while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 2MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
