In today’s smartphone world, the Samsung Galaxy S III remains as one of the more powerful handsets you can get your hands on the market. This is because the current Samsung flagship device comes with a very impressive specs sheet and brings even more impressive capabilities to the table. In addition to that, the handset is also one of the most, if not THE MOST popular handset at the moment. This popularity of the device has been evident since its launch where sales figures of the Samsung Galaxy S III have already hit the 30 million mark since it hit the shelves back in the latter parts of May.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is available for a reduced price tag at select online retailers now starting at $49.99.

In fact, the popularity of the handset continues to be off the charts and not even the loss suffered by Samsung to Apple in their high-profile patent trial or the release of the iPhone 5 and other high-end devices have slowed down the popularity of the device. And with the holiday season just around the corner, expect the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S III, and by extension its sales figures, to soar even higher.

Though this might be the case, the Samsung Galaxy S III is still far from perfect. In fact, it is sorely missing some interesting features found in the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the second generation phablet released by the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer. Back in the day, Samsung confirmed that several functionalities found in the Samsung Galaxy Note II will also make its way to the Samsung Galaxy S III via a software update and now we are seeing it happening right before our very eyes.

As it stands, Samsung has already started the rollout of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S III and users of the handset in Poland are first in line to get a taste of what Android 4.1.2 brings to the handset. As promised by Samsung, the Android 4.1.2 refresh brings to the Samsung Galaxy S III features found in the Samsung Galaxy Note II such as Multi-View feature, Page Buddy, the redesigned Gallery app from the phablet, Smart Rotation, and an upgraded keyboard (though it hasn’t been confirmed yet if this is the same SwiftKey-based keyboard found in the Samsung Galaxy Note II).

As for the Samsung Galaxy S III, its operation is powered by the handset’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset under the hood and this SoC brings into play a dual-core Kraitprocessor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with a whopping 2GB of RAM. Storage space on the handset ranges from 16GB to as much as 64GB with an option to have this expanded using its microSD card slot. As for its display, the Samsung Galaxy S III packs a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP video call and self-portrait snapper.

You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy S III for a reduced price tag now starting at $49.99.
