In today’s smartphone world, the Samsung Galaxy S III still remains as one of the more capable devices you could get your hands on. Not only that, the handset is also one of the more popular handsets in the market, if not THE most popular. No surprise here given the fact that the current Samsung flagship device packs impressive components under the hood and brings even more impressive capabilities to the tablet. In fact, the handset already managed to ring up sales to the tune of 20 million units in just one hundred days since it hit the shelves back in May.

However, the Korean electronics giant is not content to rest on the laurels of the Samsung Galaxy S III and has already followed up with the unveiling and release of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the follow up to the highly successful first generation Samsung phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note. Not only that, the second generation Samsung phablet also acts as a potent one-two combination with the Samsung Galaxy S III for the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer in its bid for dominance in the smartphone market.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II was unveiled by its manufacturer at the IFA in Berlin towards the end of August and at that time, Samsung Mobile Division head honcho JK Shin was quoted as saying that they are expecting to 20 million units of the Samsung Galaxy Note II in one year. Well, they have already started on that quest because reports are coming in that sales of the second generation Samsung phablet have already hit the 3 million mark after a month of availability in global shelves.

And with the Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G LTE getting released by all major carriers in US shores and AT&T and Verizon already taking preorders for the massive device, it can only be expected that sales figures of the phablet will continue to rise. Not only that, the looming holiday season is also expected to add to the sales figures of the device so we will not be surprised if the Samsung Galaxy Note II manages to hit is 20 million target in one year.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the handset is said to be a Samsung Galaxy S III on steroids because of the similarity of its design and aesthetics to the Samsung flagship device. The phablet already runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this powered by an Exynos 4412 Quad chipset in the internals of the device. This SoC gives the phablet a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 and a whopping 2GB of RAM for its flawless performance. The handset is available in a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB model in terms of storage space but this is still expandable by using the microSD card slot of the device. Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Note II sports a massive 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
