The Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone was one of the first handsets delivering 4G LTE connectivity to a Windows Phone operating system. The handset offers a 4.30 inch WVGA AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology in a polycarbonate unibody design. That display is the largest Nokia has ever made for a smartphone, and the handset is currently offered at most retail outlets at a bargain bin price. Just last week Nokia announced the Lumia 900 4G devices in the United States would receive their Nokia Music application for free. That app has already been available overseas, and employs US-based “musicologists” which manage, delete and add musical selections.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is on sale now starting at 149.99.

Nokia Lumia 900 handset owners will have access to more than 150 different and unique play lists across all major music genres. You can also create your own customized play lists centered around your favorite music with a feature which finds songs based on the selected artist and plays them in a random order, much like the online music site Pandora. And those songs are played back advertisement free. In a really neat feature, the Nokia Music app allows you to download your favorite play lists for off-line listening as well.

The Best of CES 2012 award winning handset, the Nokia Lumia 900 4G, was released in the United States on April 8, and still runs on AT&T’s 4G LTE system in the US. The handset measures 5.03 x 2.70 x 0.45 inches (127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm) and weighs 5.64 ounces (160 g). The 4.30 inch display mentioned earlier delivers a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, offered at 217 pixels per inch. That AMOLED display renders visuals in more than 16 million colors, and is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.

The handset is run by a 1.4 GHz Scorpion central processor, and a separate Adreno 205 chip handles all graphics processing. 512 MB of RAM system memory are on board, and 16 GB of built-in, user accessible data storage are present. The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder delivers a high-end Carl Zeiss optics package, and comes with a built-in dual LED flash. That camcorder delivers a resolution of 1,280 x 720 (720P HD), and offers autofocus, touch to focus, video stabilizing, exposure control and Geo tagging features. On the front of the handset is a 1.3 megapixel chat cam which can be used for video calls. The Nokia Lumia 900 also contains a built-in music player, YouTube video player and Stereo FM radio with RDS capabilities.
