droidrazrhdThe Motorola Droid Razr HD 4G Android smartphone is a popular mobile handset that has been a best seller since it arrived in October of 2012. The handset very effectively delivers what is undoubtedly one of the best battery performances of any 4G Android smartphone, as well as a slim design and full-featured hardware package. Recently that handset was spotted on Amazon sporting a substantial retail price reduction, benefiting from a bargain bin retail price which belies its powerful abilities.

The handset currently retails for around $49 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store, and is available in either black or white. The Motorola Droid Razr HD 4G smartphone delivers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box, as well as the Chrome for Android mobile web browser. A durable DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum body team up with a splash-proof nanocoating and Gorilla Glass scratch resistance to make for a very rugged handset.

While the Droid Razr HD is slim in profile at 0.33 inches (8.1 mm), the handset still delivers a large 4.70 inch display. DLNA wireless video out is present, allowing you to mirror whatever is on your handset’s display to an exterior HDTV or monitor. Capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported on the Super AMOLED screen, which offers a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels at a rate of 312 pixels present over every inch of display space.

That display also uses more than 16 million colors to render visuals, and light and proximity sensors offer auto dimming and auto brightness adjustment to help accentuate battery life. A full 16.0 hours of talk time is provided on the Droid Razr HD from a single battery charge, as is 20.0 hours of music streaming, 10.0 hours of video playback or 6.0 hours of web surfing with 4G LTE speeds. Standby time runs approximately 12 days, and the 2,530 mA battery offers approximately 40% more capacity than the original Droid Razr 4G.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip is on board, and is built around a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. 1.0 GB of RAM system memory has been added, as has 16 GB of built-in data storage. A microSD slot accepts cards up to 32 GB in size, and an Adreno 225 GPU handles all graphics processing. The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder offers extensive customization features, recording video in 1,080P HD resolution. The Droid Razr HD also offers a front facing VGA quality chat cam which supports video calls as well.
