htcwp8xOffered in a wide variety of unique color options, the HTC Windows Phone 8X hit the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in late 2012. Powered by a speedy processor and delivering one of the best camera experiences of any smartphone, the Windows Phone 8X runs on the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system. HTC bought a controlling interest in the Beats by Dr. Dre sound system last year, and Beats Audio is present on the Windows Phone 8X. The handset is priced at $49 on contract to kick off the Summer season in the US.

The HTC 8X 4G Windows Phone Black is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

The Beats sound enhancement technology boosts the audio signal through dedicated speaker and headset amplifiers, improving sound volume and quality when you are listening to music, playing games, surfing the web or watching video and movies. The Windows Phone 8X for Verizon also includes Data Sense. This handy feature allows you multiple ways to monitor and manage your data usage, and also compresses web pages. Verizon Wireless exclusively offers the NFL Mobile application, and it is supported on the Windows Phone 8X.

Aside from running on Verizon’s LTE network, the Windows Phone 8X offers quad band HSPA+ and quad band GSM / EDGE radio support. Verizon has thoughtfully left those networks open for worldwide travelers and globe-trotters, and the phone is slim and light. Measuring just 4.59 ounces (130 g), the phone offers a slim 0.40 inch (10.1 mm) profile. Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter applications have been pre-installed and are ready for use out-of-the-box, as is the Internet Explorer 10 mobile web browser.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X for Verizon boasts a 4.30 inch display with excellent pixel density, spreading 16 million individual colors across the screen at the rate of 341 pixels every inch. This gives the display a resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels, and the Super LCD 2 screen supports standard capacitive, multitouch gestures. HTC has also added special proximity and light sensors for auto display dimming and auto brightness adjustment, and these help conserve battery power.

Battery conservation efforts team up with the 1800 mA battery on board the handset to offer 12.5 days of standby battery power, as well as up to 15.0 hours of talk time on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. A dual core 1.5 GHz CPU powers the handset, which contains 1.0 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of built-in data storage space. Both the front and rear cameras offer ultra-wide-angle 88 degree lenses, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder records video in 1,080P HD resolution. The front facing chat cam can also be used for video calls.

The HTC 8X 4G Windows Phone Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
