lumia928verizonThe brand-new Nokia Lumia 1020 just recently launched, and that is a great thing for Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone shoppers. The brand-new 1020 is available exclusively on AT&T, so several online retailers are protecting their Verizon market share by lowering the on contract price tag of the Lumia 928 to just one penny on contract. The phone hit Big Red in mid-May of this year, and delivers a large display, extremely high pixel density, high-resolution screen and NFC support out-of-the-box.

The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

You could consider this Nokia PureView technology Phase 2. The Lumia 920 was well received because of both PureMotion and PureView technologies, and they arrive on the 928 in a slimmer and smaller form factor than the chunky 920. Windows Phone 8 is the operating system on board, and the Lumia 928 4G smartphone offers a mobile version of the Internet Explorer 10 web browser for instant Internet surfing out-of-the-box. The handset also delivers what analysts and consumers are calling one of the best smartphone cameras ever found on a mobile handset.

The rear facing 8.7 megapixel PureView camcorder offers an extra wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, special software “lenses” a floating f/2.0 lens and optical image stabilization. The presence of a 1/3″ sensor, Xenon flash and back illuminated sensor (BSI) make low light camera functionality a snap. Facebook and Twitter both support instant share camera operation, and video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second on that rear facing snapper.

The front facing 1.2 megapixel chat cam can provide video and snapshot capture, as well as video call support. The Nokia Lumia 928 4G also delivers high audio amplitude capture (HAAC) with three professional quality microphones, capturing up to 140 dB of sound distortion free. The 928 delivers a large 4.5 inch screen, spreading more than 16 million colors across the display at the rate of 332 color pixels every inch. This leads to an overall display resolution of 768 by 1,280 pixels.

Single charge talk time is substantial at 16.2 hours, as is standby time at 25.2 days. A dual core 1.5 GHz CPU powers the phone, as part of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip. 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is a generous 32 GB of built-in data storage space. Bluetooth 3.0 joins Wi-Fi channels 802.11 a, b, g, n, n 5GHz and DLNA as wireless connectivity options, with the Nokia Lumia 928 supporting voice dialing, voice recording and other multiple voice commands.

The Nokia Lumia 928 4G Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
