The Verizon Galaxy  S III Android smartphone is one of the first handsets to deliver 2.0 GB of RAM system memory. RAM is the type of memory that holds all of your installed applications and any other data you may save to your handset. The more RAM memory have, the more capable your handset is of caching information and data, meaning that the next time you use that same application your speeds are quicker. The vast majority of handsets these days have 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, and the fact that the Galaxy  S III has twice as much, coupled with a speedy dual core processor, means that the handset will process operations faster and allow for quicker web browsing as long as you have a stable connection with your wireless carrier.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III benefits greatly from 2.0 GB of RAM system memory, but all the RAM in the world is insignificant if the processor speed is poor. That is definitely not the case with this handset, as the hardware package on board includes a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip suite. That chip set is centered around a dual core 1.5 GHz central processor, with a totally separate Adreno 225 GPU handling all graphics requests. The handset also offers 16 GB of data storage, with a microSD slot providing support for cards up to 64 GB in size.

The handset also delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box, which allows one touch wireless sharing through the S Beam application with other Galaxy S III devices.

The Verizon Galaxy S III measures 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.34 inches (137 x 71 x 8.6 mm) and weighs 4.70 ounces (133 g), making it light and thin compared to other 4G smartphones. Android’s 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system is present out-of-the-box, and comes with the Samsung TouchWiz UX UI interface.
