As of the moment, the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which was unveiled a couple of weeks ago during the height of Hurricane Sandy’s fury. This version of Android is showcased to the smartphone-buying population using the LG Nexus 4 and with its status as Google’s latest and greatest, you would think that this is the update that most of the high-end smartphones currently available in the market are waiting for. The opposite holds true however because the most anticipated Android version right now is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was unveiled back in July at Google I/O and came with a lot of goodies and treats such as Google Now, Project Butter and the like. We’ve already seen several handsets, mostly high-end ones though, get a taste of the Android 4.1 refresh and several of these include the Galaxy S III from Samsung, the One X from HTC and the new Droid Razr handsets from Motorola. The common denominator among these handsets? They are mostly flagship devices of their respective manufacturers.
Though not limited to flagship handsets, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is also expected to make its way to several other devices as long as the components under the hood of these devices are capable enough to run the version of the OS. That’s why we are saddened with the fact that the HTC EVO 4G LTE released by Sprint in US shores hasn’t gotten a taste of the Android 4.1 refresh until now.
Actually, when you look at the specs sheet of the HTC EVO 4G LTE, you will notice that it comes with a very impressive resume and its components can are comparable to those found in other high-end devices. This alone ensures that the handset is eligible to get cranked up to Jelly Bean but until now, nothing of that sort has happened. It could be that Sprint hasn’t given the green light for the update to be rolled out OR the handset might not get it at all.
Word on the street however is that the HTC EVO 4G LTE is about to get an update soon but there has been no confirmation as to what it will be. It could be Jelly Bean, it could be a maintenance update, it could be anything. But hopefully, everything leans towards Jelly Bean because users of the handset have already waited long enough.
As for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, the handset has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset with a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the handset comes up to 16GB but it has a microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. As for tis display, the HTC EVO 4G LTE sports a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD 2 panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.

So very true! Loyal fans of the high end Evo devices, many of home, like myself, passed over the more common Samsung Galaxy S3 preferring the uniqueness, superior build quality and features of the Evo 4G LTE. We have waited patiently for this promised update and have been disappointed that neither Sprint non HTC has made good on this essential update. If we don’t receive Jelly Bean soon it will likely be the last HTC phone I purchase.

THAT’S MESSED UP HOW THEY OVER LOOKS THE EVO WHEN IT A FLAG SHIP AND IT DON’T GET TALKED ABOUT. THAT MUCH THEY BETTER GET IT RITE ON THE NEXT 1 ARE ITS MY LAST 1 AND HAD EVOS EVERY SENSE. IT CAME OUT

I think all good EVO 4G LTE users should sue Sprint and HTC because LTE stands for Long Term Evolution.
