When Google announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the latest version of its mobile operating system, we saw yet again manufacturers scampering to get their schedules reorganized to fit in the development of Jelly Bean for the devices in their respective stables. ASUS however had plans to distinguish itself from the rest of the OEMs. In fact, the manufacturer was one of the first to confirm that Jelly Bean is landing several of its tablets. In fact, ASUS already rolled out the Jelly Bean refresh to the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T a couple of weeks ago. With this, while smartphones and tablets are still waiting for word as to when they can expect to get a taste of Jelly Bean, users of the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T have been enjoying the Android 4.1 refresh on their devices for quite some time now.

However, it looks like ASUS has no plans of just releasing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T. In fact, the manufacturer is currently in the process of rolling out a new OTA update for the midrange tablet as we speak. Although the changelog of the update is not available yet and we can only speculate as to what goodies and treats it brings to the tablet, we would like to commend ASUS for doing a solid job of always ensuring that its devices get showered with update love.

Once applied to the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T, the new OTA update will crank up the software version of the tablet to 10.4.2.13 and is said to enhance the stability of the tablet without clearing any of your information. With this development, this update more and more looks like a small maintenance update designed to take care of bugs that might have surfaced after the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T got a taste of Jelly Bean.

Since the rollout of the update is happening via OTA, expect a notification on your ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T regarding the availability of the update. If you have run out of patience in waiting for that little notification to show up, you also have the option of manually checking for the update by going to Settings > About tablet > Software updates.

As for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T, the tablet reached official status when it was announced back in February. The tablet has quad-core capabilities under the hood thanks to its NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30L chipset which comes with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and a full gigayte of RAM. The tablet was released in 16GB and 32GB in terms of storage space and a user can also make use of the tablet’s dedicated microSD card slot of the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T. Display-wise, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T comes with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a 1280 x 800 resolution while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter a front 1.2MP snapper.
