galaxynote2createAs the Sprint Galaxy Note II closes in on 10 million units sold globally, the popular Android smartphone has received a discounted price tag from at least one respected online wireless retailer. The Amazon Wireless store online is one of the largest Internet portals for mobile handset sales, and recently the Sprint Galaxy Note II phablet was spotted there with a discounted retail price tag of $99 on contract.

The Sprint Galaxy Note II offers excellent multitasking capability thanks to the powerful quad core processor and 2.0 GB of RAM memory which anchor its hardware package, and the handset also delivers one of the largest and highest resolution smartphone displays in the entire mobile marketplace. That high-resolution screen can also be divided into two equal split screen windows, and you can either carry on independent operations on each half, or integrate and interact between the two.

The Galaxy Note II is the second iteration of the big-screen Galaxy Note smartphone that introduced the smart stylus S Pen, and the stylus has been made thicker and longer to offer a truer pen-like experience and feel. When the S Pen is removed from its onboard cradle, a pop-up menu is immediately launched, listing any third-party S Pen apps you have downloaded, as long as the Samsung-created S Pen onboard applications. As the first smartphone from Samsung to launch with the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system out-of-the-box, the phone hit the first ever Sprint 4G LTE system in late October of last year.

Samsung has included their TouchWiz UI Android overlay which accepts multitouch, capacitive gestures for navigation, and the large, high-powered smartphone has been designed in a very slim form factor, measuring just 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). The 5.55 inch Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy Note II offers more than 16 million separate colors, and the display has been designed in a 16 to 9 aspect ratio for True HD viewing. Resolution runs high at 720 x 1,280 pixels, and the built-in light and proximity sensors help to squeeze every minute of battery power from the extended life 3,100 mA cell.

That helps you achieve up to 15.0 hours of talk time from a full battery charge on the Sprint 4G LTE network in the US, with a single charge lasting for as many as 12.0 days in standby mode. Samsung has included an Exynos 4 (4412) chip package to power the handset, centered around a quad core 1.6 GHz Exynos CPU. Double the amount of RAM memory is on board at 2.0 GB, and a microSD slot lets you expand on the 16 GB of internal storage. Video is recorded in 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and the handset also offers a Stereo FM radio with RDS display capabilities.
