galaxynoteiidecThe Sprint Galaxy Note II smartphone was recently spotted at an online retailer with a price tag that is a full three figures lower than some of its competitors. Found online for only $49 on contract, the Sprint variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II tablet which helped the Korean smartphone manufacturer pass Apple as the global leader in smartphone shipments is now priced at a bargain bin or feature phone level. The popular split screen multi-window feature is on board, and the Galaxy Note II allows interaction through voice, touch, smart stylus and hovering.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $19.99.

Probably the most popular feature of the handset aside from the huge 5.55 inch True HD display is the ability to split that screen into two equally sized and independently operated mini-displays. This allows you to carry on two entirely different operations at the same time, such as surfing the web on one half of the display, while composing an e-mail or watching a video on the second half. Extending productivity and multitasking is the ability of this split screen operation to allow you to move back and forth between the two displays, moving content and data from one to the other.

The handset is the first from Samsung to deliver the Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box, and is also Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE). Several IT security tools are on board and as Samsung says, the “Galaxy Note II is built for business.” The slim, big-screen phablet supports business minded applications and features like Mobile Device Management (MDM), corporate email/calendar/contacts, Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and on-device encryption (ODE).

Samsung has included a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder and front facing 1.9 megapixel chat cam on the Galaxy Note II handset. That rear snapper can record video in 1,080P HD resolution, while the front facing chat cam can be used for video calls and Skype calls as well. And the popular smart stylus S Pen which debuted with the original Galaxy Note has returned, and is thicker and longer. This gives it a truer pen-like feel, and if you hover the point of the smart stylus directly above the display without touching it, you receive contextual information, link previews, and website magnification without clicking.

The phone is thin at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), and the large Super AMOLED screen is aligned in a True HD 16 to 9 aspect ratio. Resolution runs 720 by 1,280 pixels, and the Galaxy Note II delivers up to 15.0 hours of talk time from a full battery charge. A quad core Exynos processor has been clocked at 1.6 GHz, and joins a quad core GPU, 2.0 GB of RAM memory, 16 GB of built-in storage and a microSD slot in the handset’s hardware package. The phone also delivers a Stereo FM radio with RDS and YouTube video player pre-installed.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $19.99.
