galaxynoteiidecOffering a True HD display, multi-window feature, powerful quad core processor and Jelly Bean Android 4.1, the Sprint Galaxy Note II recently received a retail price reduction. At select online retailers, the handset dipped just below the $100 mark, and is currently offered at destinations like the Amazon Wireless store for $99 on contract. The handset offers a unique multi-window feature, which allows you to divide the touchscreen display into two separate windows. This gives you the option of watching a video or movie in one window, while simultaneously checking your e-mail, browsing the web, downloading an application or text messaging in the second window.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is the first Samsung smartphone to offer Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box, which delivers an upgraded Google Now virtual personal assistant and contextual search engine. Project Butter is one aspect of the operating system upgrade which makes for a faster and smoother user interface. That OS upgrade is joined by the Chrome for Android mobile web browser, offering instant Internet access out-of-the-box. The handset improves screen size over the large 5.3 inch display delivered on the original Galaxy Note, and returns the popular S Pen smart stylus and integrated native handwriting recognition technology that debuted on that handset.

The Galaxy Note II hit the Sprint network on October 25, and Sprint recently added an additional 28 major markets in the US with 4G LTE access. That fast 4G LTE network is the perfect mobile super-speedway for the 1.6 GHz quad core central processor that powers the handset. An ARM Mali 400 MP4 quad core graphics processor is also on board in the hardware package on the Galaxy Note II, as is a full 2.0 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of built-in data storage. A microSD slot is present as well, allowing for storage expansion.

The Galaxy Note II handset’s display runs a large 5.55 inches, delivering True HD 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution. More than 16 million individual colors are used on that display, which is set up in a 16 to 9 aspect ratio, widely regarded as the standard for true HD video viewing. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 offers scratch resistance. Talk time runs as much as 15.0 hours from a single battery charge, and the handset delivers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box.

The camera combo includes a front facing 1.9 megapixel chat cam and rear mounted 8.0 megapixel camcorder. That rear device offers a widescreen panorama mode, special effects package, and image stabilization, also delivering an LED flash and back illuminated sensor (BSI) for low light camera operation. Recording video at a rate of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution), that rear snapper also provides smile and face detection. The front facing chat cam can also be used for video calls.

You can purchase the Galaxy Note II at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
