galaxynexusThe majority of smartphones peak in sales and popularity their first few months of existence. And those that last for more than a year as bestsellers and flagship devices only do so by delivering great specs, features and performance. The Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone from Samsung debuted in the United States in late December of 2011. At that time, the handset delivered one of the slimmest profiles, largest high resolution screens, and speediest processors of any mobile handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

Fast forward over a year, and amazingly enough the full-featured Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G is still alive and kicking at Sprint. Still delivering one of the largest and highest resolution displays of any phone, a speedy dual core processor and high resolution video capture, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G at the end of 2012 received a couple of gifts that insured the high-end functionality and popularity of the popular smartphone.

In late 2012 Sprint began rolling out their first ever 4G LTE network in the United States. That system has more than 32 major markets in the US currently, and has promised a nationwide network by the end of this year. With speeds up to 10 times their previous 3G network according to Sprint, the dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 central processor on the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G has a very powerful and speedy network to run on.

And also at the tail end of last year, the Galaxy Nexus 4G received an update to the Android 4.1 operating system, the Jelly Bean OS. Just recently this year, the handset benefited from another upgrade, this time to Jelly Bean 4.2. On the speedy new network the handset is capable of simultaneous data and voice operation, allowing you to continue or answer a voice call while checking your e-mail, surfing the web or downloading an application or game. The handset offers Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless support out-of-the-box, providing access to data share applications like Android Beam and payment processors like Google Wallet.

The Galaxy Nexus 4G’s 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen offers 316 pixels over every inch of display space, and is protected by a scratch resistant Oleophobic coating. Resolution runs high at 720 x 1,280 pixels, and the Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip suite which powers the handset includes a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The rear facing camcorder runs 5.0 megapixels and records video in 1,080P HD resolution, and the handset offers 1.0 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage.

You can purchase the Galaxy Nexus at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
