Since it was the first smartphone to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Android operating system to a US smartphone nearly a year ago, it is only fitting that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G was the first handset to offer Jelly Bean 4.1. After more than 11 months in the ever-changing mobile marketplace, most handsets have seen better days. That is not the case with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G, which still delivers one of the largest high resolution displays of any smartphone, 4G speeds, high-resolution video capture and powerful dual core processor.

The popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint is now available at a reduced price tag now starting at $0.01.

Launching in last year’s holiday season, the handset has received holiday sale pricing from the Amazon Wireless store during their annual sales event this year. The powerful Galaxy Nexus 4G can be purchased for a under $20 on contract during Amazon’s Cyber Monday Deals Week this week. The Jelly Bean operating system upgrade gives the handset a much faster and smoother user interface, better camera operability, less clutter on the Android home screens and an improved Google Now virtual personal assistant and contextual search engine.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G still delivers the most out-of-the-box, built-in data storage of any smartphone at 32 GB. And the large 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution ranks among the largest and clearest of any mobile handset. Pixel density is extremely high at 316 pixels per inch, and the speedy 4G LTE system from Sprint provides the speed and performance for the Galaxy Nexus that users are looking for in their smartphone, a device that many of us use to literally run our day to day lives.

Another feature of Jelly Bean 4.1 is the “voice to text” dictation application. This allows you to speak instead of typing or keyboarding in most applications where text input is required. The handset is also exceptionally slim at 0.37 inches (9.47 mm) in thickness. Running on the Sprint 4G network is a 1.2 GHz dual core central processor, and a separate graphics specific GPU focuses exclusively on graphics processing. The handset delivers 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, and employs a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip package for device operations.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone provides high resolution video capture at 1,080P HD with its rear facing 5.0 megapixel camcorder. Also present in the camera combo is a front facing VGA quality chat cam which allows you to place video calls, and the Sprint Galaxy Nexus also supports voice memo recording, voice calls and other voice commands.

You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint for a reduced price now starting at $0.01.
