When Samsung first rolled out the idea of their Galaxy Note 4G Android smartphone, many industry analysts frowned on its size. The vast majority of consumer electronics experts who are usually right on the money with their smartphone opinions could have easily influenced Samsung to create a smaller device. However, Samsung chose to ignore the critics that said a 5.3 inch screen was too large, and that was a good thing for them. The Samsung Galaxy Note proved so successful that it has already tallied over 10 million units sold globally since its launch on February 7 of this year.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is on sale now starting at 69.99.

At almost the size of a 7 inch tablet, but adding 4G LTE connectivity on the AT&T wireless network in the US, the Samsung Galaxy Note delivers the best qualities and features of a smartphone and a tablet. The large touchscreen supports multitouch, capacitive gestures from the user’s hand or the accompanying smart stylus S Pen. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system meshes with the TouchWiz UI Android overlay, and Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless technology is present out-of-the-box.

While thin at 0.38 inches (10 mm),the Galaxy Note phablet still contains an oversized 2,500 mA battery which delivers approximately 25% better talk time than the average 4G smartphone. 10.00 hours of talk time is delivered from a single charge, and standby time is 10.4 days. The 5.30 inch Super AMOLED screen delivers a resolution of 800 x 1,280 pixels, and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4G also delivers a unique handwriting recognition technology which allows you to create original artwork, input text in e-mails and messages with the S Pen, even allowing you to add notes to video and still imagery.

Running the show on the Galaxy Note is a dual core 1.5 GHz Scorpion central processor, and it is joined in the Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon microchip suite by an Adreno 220 GPU. The handset delivers 16 GB of built-in storage and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, with a microSD slot installed for storage expansion, supporting cards up to32 GB in size.

Built into the back of the Galaxy Note 4G Android smartphone/tablet is an 8.0 megapixel camcorder which offers autofocus, smile detection, panorama mode and multishot features. That rear snapper also contains a built-in LED flash, and captures video in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD). A 2.0 megapixel chat cam faces the user, and popular online destinations Facebook, YouTube (upload), Picasa and Twitter have been pre-installed.
