gs4niceEvery year when Apple launches a new iPhone or some other brand-new product, rabidly addicted fanboys and girls who simply must have the next thing Apple produces begin queuing up in lines all over the world. We have all seen and heard the stories of sidewalk camp-outs lasting several days, regardless of the weather. Samsung recently took a less than subtle jab at those Apple line-waiters, while simultaneously allowing their own customers to wait in virtual lines for the launch of the Galaxy S4 in New Zealand.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Black Mist is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.

Ad agency Colenso BBDO created a “Smart Phone Line” digitally, where fans could join in and preserve a spot for the Galaxy S4 smartphone. Rather than having to wait in physical lines, take days off from work and sleep on hard concrete, Galaxy S4 shoppers simply had to join the digital queue and then move up in line by posting to social media networks like Facebook and Twitter about the Galaxy S4. And the social posting fan that worked the way to the front of the line by the official launch date was rewarded with a free Galaxy S4 smartphone. A big screen located in Auckland even showed the avatars of the virtual line-waiters sharing tweets and posts in real time.

In many parts of the world the Galaxy S4 has already created a memorable and popular presence, and in the United States Sprint has teamed up with select virtual retailing outlets to offer the powerful 16 GB Galaxy S4 for just $99 on contract with a standard two-year agreement. The Galaxy S4 recently received good news on the Android operating system front. Samsung has promised that all the US Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4 smartphones would begin to receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update over the air during the month of October.

No doubt you have seen the advertisements showing Galaxy S4 users answering their phone with a mere wave of their hands, using the handset as a remote control for HDTV sets and home theater systems, and the neat eyeball tracking technology which causes video playback when you look away from your screen. Samsung Smart Pause then immediately continues playback when you return your view to the telephone’s display, and that same technology allows you to scroll through web browsers or e-mails without touching the screen. Recognizing that your face is looking at the screen, you simply incline your wrist and look towards the top, middle or bottom of the display, and the screen scrolls accordingly.

Multiple voice commands are also on board, and the handset is powered by a powerful quad core central processor. Exceptionally slim compared to other phones with such a powerful hardware package and 5.0 inch display, the Galaxy S4 measures just 0.31 inches (7.9 mm) in thickness and weighs only 4.59 ounces (130 g). Pixel density is extremely high on the Full HD display, with 441 pixels per inch creating an overall resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Talk time runs as high as 17.0 hours after a single charge, 2.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is a microSD slot for storage expansion. The rear facing 13.0 megapixel camcorder can team up with the front facing chat cam for simultaneous video call and video recording, a feature Samsung appropriately calls a Dual Video Call function.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Black Mist can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.
