gs4cThe Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone has achieved a rare feat not often seen in the mobile marketplace. Smartphone manufacturers would be ecstatic if every device they offered could achieve 1 million units sold. And if a smartphone sells 5 or 10 million units in its lifetime, it is considered a runaway bestseller. But proving it is the hottest smartphone on the planet currently, the Galaxy S4 recently flew right past the 10 million units sold mark less than one month after its release in the United States.

And that includes less than one week of availability on the Verizon 4G LTE network, the largest and arguably the fastest LTE system in the US. The slim and light Android smartphone offers the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system out-of-the-box, along with NFC support and one of the highest megapixel counts of any smartphone camera, a powerful quad core processor and generous RAM memory. The popular Galaxy S4 also delivers some new “touch free” navigation features. Samsung Smartphone Pause gives you the ability to control the large high-resolution display by moving your eyes across it.

While watching a video clip or movie, if you should happen to look away from the phone the content is immediately paused. When you look back at the handset, your video picks up right where it left off. This eyeball tracking technology also powers the Smart Scroll feature, allowing you to scroll up and down the screen simply by moving your eyes to the top or the bottom of the display. Another piece of contextual awareness on the Galaxy S4 that Samsung calls Air View enables you to preview content on e-mail, images, video and other data without having to open it by simply hovering your fingers above the screen.

Air Gesture is a touch-free feature that lets you change music tracks, scroll up and down web pages and even answer an incoming telephone call with a simple wave of your hand. The Galaxy S4 also includes the Samsung Optical Reader, which automatically understands text, QR coding and business cards, immediately providing the option to translate, dial a phone number or text message according to the information delivered. And the Samsung Galaxy S4 also offers a safety feature in its S Voice Drive application. You can set up performances you desire when you are driving your vehicle, allowing for safe, hands-free optimization and interaction with your handset.

The Galaxy S4 also offers a large 5.0 inch Super AMOLED display, spreading 16 million colors across the screen at the rate of 441 pixels per inch. This offers a Full HD 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution, and the phone is powered by a quad core Snapdragon 600 CPU clocked at 1.9 GHz. Available in both 16 and 32 GB models, a microSD slot has been provided for storage expansion, and video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing camcorder.
