gs4For those of you that have the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 on the Sprint, US Cellular and now the AT&T network, you are likely to be downloading the Android 4.4 KitKat update any day now.  If you are happen to be on the T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless networks, then you have been waiting long enough for the update, but according to the Samsung website, that is about to change.  According to online sources, Samsung’s website has been teasing more Android 4.4 KitKat update rollouts for the near future.

Because there are really only five major mobile carriers in the country, it is easy to see that T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless are next in line.  That does not mean that it pre-paid mobile carriers like Boost Mobile or Straight Talk won’t be sending out the updates as well.  When the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 were first released, they both arrived with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean pre-installed and this update will finally move users passed that point.  Samsung has updated all of its support pages to reflect that the updates are coming very soon.

Samsung has posted that the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S4 will be running the Android 4.4 KitKat software, but according to users on the network, the update has not started.  That is a very good indication that Samsung will be releasing the software sooner than later.  This would be the first time that consumers have noticed Samsung posting about an update that has yet to be released to the public.  The Galaxy Note 3 update on the AT&T network has been presented in the same exact way on the website.  The listings on the Samsung website are not confirmation, but there are a good sign for sure.

The updates will be bringing many of the same features that Android 4.4 KitKat has brought to other smartphones.  Those that already have the update downloaded and installed said the update was loaded with enhancements and from the mobile carriers that sent the software out.  That is likely to be the case with T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless as well.  Verizon Wireless is very well known for taking much longer than any other mobile carrier, so they are expected to get it rolled out at the end.
