galaxysiiinewEver since the original Galaxy S Android smartphone debuted on June 4, 2010 in Singapore, the Samsung Galaxy S lineup has been a massive hit for that smartphone manufacturer. The handset was sold out its first launch weekend at SingTel, the exclusive carrier to sell the device in Singapore. That original Galaxy S smartphone has gone on to sell more than 24 million pieces to date, armed with a 1.0 GHz Hummingbird processor, a 4.0 inch screen, 480 x 800 pixel resolution and either 8 or 16 GB of built-in memory.

The Galaxy S III is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

The next in the lineup was the Samsung Galaxy S II, which first hit the tech hungry United States smartphone marketplace in September of 2011, running on the Sprint wireless network. With more than 40 million units sold, the Sprint version of the Galaxy S II, named the Epic 4G Touch, was an award-winning handset which debuted at the Mobile World Congress on February 13 of 2011. The handset improved display size to 4.52 inches, retained 480 x 800 pixel resolution, and was one of the thinnest handsets at the time of its release.

The Sprint Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch immediately became the flagship smartphone for Sprint, and is still a viable Android mobile handset. Recently spotted at online retailers like Amazon for $0.01 on contract, the Epic 4G Touch improved processor power by 20% over the original Galaxy S, offers 1.0 GB of RAM memory and an 8.0 megapixel camera with built-in flash and 1,080P full HD video recording capability.

The best-selling and bargain priced Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch for Sprint laid the foundation for the handset to arrive on multiple wireless carriers in the US, but it wasn’t until the Galaxy S III 4G Android smartphone was launched in June of last year that the Galaxy S lineup really began flexing its muscles. The handset was the first to outsell the iPhone while both handsets were available from the same wireless carriers, helped Samsung to record profits in Q4 of 2012, and has moved Samsung past Apple as the top smartphone manufacturer (measured in units).

The Samsung Galaxy S III roared out of the starting gate with more than 20 million units sold in its first 100 days of availability, and currently stands at around the 45 million unit mark in global sales. Sprint offers the 16 GB Samsung Galaxy S III for around $49 on contract in the US, and the slim smartphone delivers a large 4.80 inch display, 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution and 1.5 GHz dual core processor. With NFC support out-of-the-box, a choice between 16 GB and 32 GB of built-in storage and a full 2.0 GB of RAM memory, the Samsung Galaxy S III successfully picks up where its two predecessors left off, and bodes well for Galaxy S fans and Samsung shareholders in the future.

You can purchase the Galaxy S III for a discounted price now starting at $0.01.
