galaxynote2createToday’s powerful smartphones offer an incredibly multitalented experience. They function as both PC and phone, and give us access to computer technology previously unheard of in a mobile device. And sometimes the wise smartphone shopper can benefit from prelaunch hype and notoriety, allowing the release of a new handset to drive down the price of a currently available and technologically advanced device. That is currently the case for savvy Android smartphone shoppers with the Galaxy Note II smartphone/tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

The upcoming Galaxy Note 3 smartphone is rumored to be revealed at the upcoming IFA Conference in Berlin, Germany in August. A launch date has not been set, and specific details concerning technical specifications are anything but firm. But that has not stopped the smartphone Blogosphere from speculating on everything about the upcoming, and no doubt eventually best-selling, Galaxy Note 3 handset. Amidst this speculation is a Galaxy Note II smartphone with top-of-the-line features and hardware, which recently benefited from a retail price reduction.

Available since October of last year in the US, the Sprint Galaxy Note II has been marked down to just $19 on contract. Select online retailers are offering the entry-level price tag that can get you one of the most powerful smartphones ever designed. The price was lowered as talk of the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 has reached fever pitch, and savvy smartphone shoppers are snapping up the Galaxy Note II as a known quantity now, as opposed to waiting and paying a three digit price tag for a handset whose specs and features still have not been confirmed.

One of the most popular applications the Galaxy Note II smartphone delivers is the ability to split the large 5.55 inch display into two smaller screens. If you can imagine having two independent computers working at the same time, then you understand what Samsung is calling the Multi-Window feature on the Galaxy Note II. And aside from working at your two smaller displays on the screen independently, you can integrate your two mini-screens, move back and forth between the two windows, and even drag and drop data.

The first smartphone from Samsung to deliver the Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box, the Galaxy Note II runs on Sprint’s 4G LTE system. The large True HD display offers a resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels, and the Note II delivers up to 15.0 hours of talk time from a full battery charge. A quad core graphics processor joins a quad core 1.6 GHz CPU and 2.0 GB of RAM memory in the phone’s powerful hardware package, and the 16 GB of onboard storage space can be accentuated using the microSD slot. Video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution on the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and the Galaxy Note II provide a Stereo FM radio with RDS display capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
