Samsung has been known to roll out handsets done in a pink paint job in time for Valentine’s Day. Just think of the bright pink Samsung Galaxy S II released last 2012 right around this time along with the pink version of the Samsung Galaxy Note and you’ll know that the Korean electronics giant has an affinity for bright pink smartphones. Oh, and you would also want to include the “Martian Pink” variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III released exclusively in Korea – a little out of season when you come to think of it but still pink nonetheless.

Confirmation has been provided that the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer is about to launch another pink smartphone in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. This much was confirmed when mug shots of the second generation Samsung phablet got plastered on Samsung’s Taiwanese site alongside the original white and grey variants of the device. The shade of pink that coats the Samsung Galaxy Note II is almost similar to the Martian Pink version of the Samsung Galaxy S III and the S-Pen stylus of the phablet also got the same paint job.

No confirmation yet if this pink variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be offered in other regions other than Asia but since the pink version of both the Samsung Galaxy S II and the original Galaxy Note eventually made their way over to other territories, there is the off-chance that the pink Samsung Galaxy Note II will also be made available in other markets.

Of course, when talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note II regardless of whatever color it comes, the first thing that comes to mind is its massive 5.5 inches of screen real estate. In addition to that, the discussion of the impressive resume of the phablet along with the fire-breathing components under its hood will not be far behind. After all, these attributes are responsible for the popularity of the device despite the fact that it still is a niche device manufactured for a specific portion of the smartphone-buying population.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II reached official status when it was unveiled back in August of last year and promptly made it to the shelves for mass consumption a month later. It has measurements of 1511.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm and it tips the scales at a rather 183 grams because of its bulk. Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Note II runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this is powered by the phablet’s Exynos 4412 Quad chipset which comes with a 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM. The phablet can be had in a 16GB and a 32GB edition in terms of storage space but a microSD card slot allows for memory expansion purposes should the internal storage space of the device fall short of your expectations. Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Note II sports a massive 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its dual-shooter configuration includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
