When the original version of the Samsung Galaxy Note was released last year, it was announced that the massive phablet wouldn’t make an appearance in shelves in US shores which left a lot of our smartphone-crazed brethren in our side of the world feeling rather disappointed. It’s a good thing that AT&T took matters into its own hands and added the phablet to its lineup of Android-powered devices. If you happen to be on T-Mobile, the only option you have if you want to experience the phablet is to drop a lot of moolah on an unlocked version of the device.

Also, some enterprising developer a couple of months ago was able to successfully hack the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy Note to make it work using a T-Mobile SIM by using a dfferent radio software in the innards of the device. If you happen to have the Magenta carrier for your wireless provider of choice, there might be a possibility that the massive phablet is already well on its way to the shelves of T-Mobile. This was revealed when a couple of screenshots of what appears to be a T-Mobil version of the Samsung Galaxy Note surfaced recently.

Based on the screenshot, the model number of what can possible be the phablet’s T-Mobile variant is SGH-T879 while its build number is IML74K.144. Incidentally, the build number found on the screenshot actually matches that of the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note which essentially makes the two different versions of the device to be brothers since both models were produced in the same time frame. Without any confirmation from either Samsung or T-Mobile for that matter, this information should be taken with a grain of salt but there are certain indicators that could point out to this as to be the real deal.

Based on the screenshots, the time stamp and build servers used in the Samsung Galaxy Note actually match that of the official build info thereby making the screenshots a lot more legit. In addition to that, the screenshots show that the design is similar to how TouchWIZ, the custom UI of Samsung, looks like when overlaid on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Not only that, based on the information that we managed to get our hands on, the build of what can actually be the Samsung Galaxy Note for T-Mobile is said to be an official build is because of the fact that the build number found on the screenshot is gets a baseband version for its suffix and not a decimal number which indicates that it is a custom build and thereby can turn your warranty to toast. Again, nothing is set is stone as of the moment but you cannot blame us if we are more than excited at the prospect of the Samsung Galaxy Note showing up on the shelves of the Magenta carrier.  Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T starting at $229.
