galaxynote3Galaxy Note 3 smartphone owners that like to tinker with their handsets just got a bit of good news. The Android operating system was created to be an open and available piece of source code, allowing you to customize it to your preferences. 99+% of all smartphone buyers simply take the device as is, because Android smartphones do so much so well. However, those of you out there who own a Galaxy Note 3 smartphone/tablet and know how to mess around under the hood will be happy to know that the popular CyanogenMod source code for modifying Android operating systems is now available for the Galaxy Note 3 handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $149.99 – $779.99.

Based on the Android mobile platform for smartphones and tablets, CyanogenMod is as free, open and customizable as is the Google operating system. And the more powerful that our smartphones and tablets become, there will always be the attraction for certain technologically gifted smartphone owners to tinker with the code and create their own custom smartphone. The source code for several variants of the popular Galaxy Note 3 phablet has officially been released, and can be found online. As always, we warn that tinkering with your smartphone’s configurations may void your warranty, so proceed carefully, and only if you are technologically capable.

Early in the month of December the big-screen Galaxy Note 3 smartphone passed the 10 million units shipped mark, a milestone which is not achieved by many handsets. Announced in early September of 2013 and hitting the marketplace later that month, the Galaxy Note 3 delivers a large 5.70 inch display, but is actually smaller in overall dimensions than the Galaxy Note II handset. This is the first Galaxy Note device to offer a Full HD screen, displaying a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. The popular S Pen smart stylus has returned from the previous two Galaxy Note models, and this iteration of the Galaxy Note phablet lineup can boast being the first mobile device to ever deliver 3.0 GB of RAM system memory.

The slimmest smartphone (8.3 mm or 0.33 inches) further ensures smooth and fluid game play and video viewing with an Adreno 330 graphics processor and blazingly quick Snapdragon 800 CPU which has been clocked at 2.3 GHz. A full 25.0 hours of talk time from a full battery charge delivers twice the industry average, 32.0 GB of RAM memory has been included, as has a microSD slot for storage expansion. Samsung has beefed up the camera package from previous models, giving the Galaxy Note 3 a front facing chat cam with video call support, as well as a rear mounted 13.0 megapixel snapper capable of Full HD 1,080P resolution video recording.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $149.99 – $779.99.
