These past couple of days, the Samsung Galaxy  S II 4G has seen its share of space in the headlines. First off, the AT&T variant of the venerable flagship device of Samsung was included in the list of devices released by the wireless provider that will get the jump to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of the Google mobile operating system. Though no exact date was given as to when ICS will get to land on the handset, it still is comforting to hear the confirmation from AT&T itself about the impending ICS update for the smartphone.

Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy  S II 4G also got its taste of Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich, albeit unofficially when a leaked ICS update for the handset surfaced yesterday to the delight of our smartphone-crazed brethren rocking this device. Reports claim that the leaked update for the handset is as close as it can get to the real thing so we may see the official ICS update for the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G rolling out anytime soon.

However, the best part is the price cut after price cut that the Samsung Galaxy  S II 4G went through at an online retailer. Just last week, it was reported that the price point of the handset at select AT&T authorized retailers has dropped down to just $9.99 with a new two-year contract with AT&T. At this price point, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G became even more attractive than it already is. Things do not end there though as the price of the handset at the online retailer got slashed yet again. Just recently though, the price of the Samsung Galaxy  S II 4G dropped from the previous $9.99 to just a penny with the same two-year contract with the wireless provider. This is a deal to good to pass up on if you are in the market for a new smartphone and we have the specs sheet of the Samsung Galaxy  S II 4G coming right up to give you an idea why.

AT&T released the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G back in October and since then, the handset became one of the best-selling smartphones in the stable of AT&T. This didn’t come as a surprise given the capabilities of the device. Its Samsung Exynos C210 chipset powers its operating system while its dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and full gigabyte of RAM work together to ensure a snappy performance in the device. It has 16GB of internal memory and should this get depleted, you have the option to expand the memory of the handset using its microSD card slot. The claim to fame of the handset though is its 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display made from Gorilla Glass. Its resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and delivery of 16M colors ensure that your films and games, along with web browsing are as enjoyable as ever. The handset also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera at the back paired with a 2MP webcam out front.  Buy the Samsung Galaxy S II starting at only one penny!
