droidrazrmaxxhdWhen smartphones moved from a single core to dual core processors, battery performance went down as overall performance and speeds went through the roof. Now that we have 4G LTE connectivity and extremely high resolution on our displays, not to mention power-hungry applications and built-in features, our smartphones have to work even harder to deliver a decent charge. Even so, the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD provides arguably the premier battery experience found on any other current 4G smartphone.

Motorola Mobility designers realized that anyone can simply slap a huge battery on a phone to deliver a longer charge. But they wanted to keep the big-screen Droid Razr MAXX HD as slim as possible. They were successful, and the phone measures just 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness. However, that slim profile belies an extended life battery of 3,300 mA. That beast of the battery can totally charge in as little as 4.0 hours and may make you lose your car and home chargers, you will be using them so infrequently.

You can expect nearly 3 times the 4G average talk time on the Droid Razr MAXX HD, for a full 21.0 hours of talk time after a full battery charge. That same charge provides up to 8.0 hours of voice guided GPS navigation or web surfing, and you movie buffs can watch 10.0 hours of streaming video or 13.0 hours of video playback on the handset’s large, high-resolution display. If music is your thing, an incredible 27.0 hours of music streaming in Verizon LTE coverage areas is also provided from a full battery charge.

And if that were not enough juice for you, Motorola has included their SmartActions application. This allows you to automate repetitive, everyday tasks and set battery saving rules for the handset, enhancing the already excellent battery performance even further. In standby mode, the Droid Razr MAXX HD can hibernate for up to 15.5 days. All that while providing True HD 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution to its 4.70 inch Super AMOLED display.

Pixel density runs high at 312 pixels per inch, while video out to an external HDTV or monitor is provided by both DLNA and microHDMI video out connectivity options. A 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon CPU accompanies 32 GB of built-in data storage and 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM memory in the handset’s hardware profile, and video is captured in 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. A YouTube video player is on board, as is the Chrome for Android mobile web browser, ready for use out-of-the-box.
