droidrazrmaxxhdLaunched last October in the United States on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system, the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD at the end of 2012 received an upgrade to the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system. The handset delivers a large high-resolution screen in a slim profile, you have your choice of white or black colored handset, and a special security minded software package is on board. The handset was recently spotted kicking off 2013 with a retail price of around $149 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store.

The Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.

That slim profile mentioned above measures 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), and durable DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum make up the body. Corning Gorilla Glass offers scratch resistance, with a special nanocoating providing splash-proof protection to both the interior electrical components as well as the outside of the Droid Razr MAXX HD. The handset delivers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box, and also offers the Verizon exclusive NFL Mobile application for sports fans.

At 4.70 inches, the Super AMOLED screen is one of the largest found on a current 4G smartphone. Resolution runs high at 720 x 1,280 pixels, and that is delivered at 312 pixels per inch. More than 16 million colors are used to create visual displays, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported for device navigation. Built-in light and proximity sensors help preserve battery power, and DLNA and microHDMI video out options are offered.

Those battery conservation efforts help the extended life 3,300 mA battery deliver topline battery performance. Charging in as little as 4 hours, that oversized cell delivers a full 21.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. You can also enjoy 13.0 hours of video playback, 10.0 hours of streaming your favorite videos, and a generous 27.0 hours of listening to music streaming over Verizon’s LTE network.

A dual core 1.5 GHz CPU is on board the Droid Razr Maxx HD, as well as 1.0 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage. A microSD slot is also provided for storage expansion, and an Adreno 225 GPU handles the graphics processing. The Droid Razr MAXX HD for Verizon offers a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder for 1,080P HD high resolution video capture, with autofocus, a built-in LED flash, touch to focus, geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization features. The front facing chat cam is a 1.3 megapixel model, and popular applications YouTube and Picasa join the Chrome for Android web browser as pre-installed software.

You can purchase the Droid Razr Maxx HD for a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
