The versatile Motorola Droid  Razr MAXX 4G not only delivers the best talk time, video playback and data storage of any smartphone, but can also act as an entry-level laptop, a desktop PC, a high definition multimedia center and a hands-free in-car GPS system. Landing January 26 on the Verizon 4G LTE system in the United States, the splash resistant Kevlar and aluminum chassis has its own unique appearance. The 4G LTE system the Verizon offer simultaneous voice and data access, and the handset is slim when compared to other 4G smartphones. The Droid Razr MAXX measures 5.15 x 2.71 x 0.35 inches (130.7 x 68.9 x 8.99 mm) and weighs 5.11 ounces (145 g), making it one of the slimmest handsets in the entire smartphone marketplace.

The optional Lapdock 100 accessory turns the handset into a 10.1 inch laptop complete with full keyboard and track pad, and even adds 5.0 hours of run time to the 4G-best 21.5 hours of talk time (15.0 hours of video playback) the handset provides from a single battery charge. In coordination with the optional Motorola HD Station, the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX 4G has three USB ports and an HDMI slot for hooking to peripherals like will an HDTV or monitor, keyboard, mouse and other devices. And the in car hands-free GPS mount delivers turn by turn directions and voice activated access.

The device also offers the most data storage of any handset out-of-the-box, with 16 GB built in and a removable 16 GB microSD card that ships with the handset. The 4.30 inch Super AMOLED Advanced display has an overall screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and delivers visuals in more than 16 million separate colors. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass offers scratch resistance and glare reduction, and the hardware package is centered around a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip suite.

That chip set includes a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor and separate PowerVR SGX540 graphics chip, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is present. The built-in microSD slot also provides microSDHC support for cards up to 32 GB in size. The handset comes with a an 8.0 megapixel camcorder built into the back, delivering autofocus, touch to focus, Geo tagging, face detection and image stabilization. The camera also contains a built-in LED flash, and provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. A 1.3 megapixel chat cam faces the user, and YouTube and Picasa social networking applications have been pre-installed.  The Droid Razr Maxx is currently available starting at $99 at select online retailers.
