In today’s smartphone world, most handsets especially those with big-ass displays usually fall prey to one issue – their battery life is not as long as we would want it to be. Well, this is not surprising at all given all the connectivity options jammed inside the chassis of a particular handset. Not only that, bigger displays mean bigger power consumption, hence, the drain and strain on your handset’s battery pack. With this trend, it is not uncommon for any regular smartphone user to find himself running to a wall outlet at the end of the day to charge his handset for use on the morrow.

The Droid Razr Maxx is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

Motorola however took care of this when it released the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx in 2011. When the manufacturer unveiled the handset, it bragged about the massive 3300 mAh power pack slapped in the chassis of the handset which allegedly will give the smartphone a battery life unlike what we’ve seen in the past. True enough, when reviewers have had the chance to get their hands on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, most of them immediately put the handset to real world scenarios that will tax its battery life. The result? The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx aced all of these torture tests and proven that a smartphone doesn’t need to be charged every day.

Things were going great for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx from then on. It even got upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich back in June to the delight of its users because the ICS update made the handset even more capable than it already is. In addition to that, the OEM confirmed that the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx will also get a taste of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the future. Some users of the handset were lucky enough to take advantage of an accidental leak and rollout of the Jelly bean refresh for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx a couple of days back but some were not so lucky because Motorola quickly pulled the update after that.

Motorola for its part however has already released confirmation as to when Jelly bean can be expected to land on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. The announcement was made at the manufacturer’s Facebook page where it confirmed that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will get rolled out to the handset this Q1. As always, no specific date has been nailed but this is already expected, yes?

As for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the handset still has impressive components despite its aging status. The handset’s circuitry revolves around its Texas Instruments OMAP4430 chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the handset is pegged at 16GB but it comes preinstalled with a 16GB microSD card for a total of 32GB of onboard storage. As for its display, the handset sports a 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED Advanced panel with a 540 x 960 resolution while its dual-shooter configuration features a main 8MP shooter at its back panel and a 1.3MP snapper at its front bezel.

You can purchase the Droid Razr Maxx for a discounted price tag saving $150 now starting at $0.01.
