motox-bThe Moto X has been on the market now for a couple of months and just like the first day that it arrived on the market, the popular, highly customizable smartphone is still making headlines.  This time around it has to do with the fact that the Moto X is getting updated to Android 4.4.2 software, but the problem is that it is not happening in the United States.  Those that picked up the Moto X in Canada have been reportedly getting update notifications while those in the United States are still waiting.

Almost as soon as the Moto X hit the market, it was updated to the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and that threw the mobile news world into a cyclone of surprise followed by the fact that most did not think that it would happen so quickly.  The issue was that many might not have thought the Moto X was a Google device, but since Google picked up Motorola Mobility, that has changed.  The biggest surprise was that the Moto X was getting the Android 4.4 before the Nexus branded devices were and that surprised most.

Now that Android 4.4 KitKat has gone through some of the smaller updates, it looks like more devices are getting those as well.  The Moto X in Canada is getting the update and that is reportedly going to fix some of the bugs that came along with Android 4.4 KitKat in the first place.  A lot of times, the major update releases seem to be good to go for a few weeks until more users are getting the hang of the new software, then it is time to note all of the bugs.  Once that is done, Google and Motorola can get together to figure out what is causing the issue and attempt to fix them.

Motorola’s Product Management executive noted in a blog post that the update was coming, but he did not share any details that would have to do with the United States and when users here would be seeing the update.  Since Android 4.4.2 has been out for a month or more now, it is surprising the more devices are not getting updated with it.  The Moto G has been added to the list and now HTC has also reportedly been ready to send out the same software.
