There are plenty of apps on the market available in more than one app store.  Some apps are games, actually most apps are games and some apps are very helpful to your daily life.  Some can help you increase your productivity and others can simple just make daily tasks easier to remember.  There are also a couple of apps that can help you save some money at the fuel pump.  Mobile apps that can track your fuel economy, maintenance schedules and can transfer information to Microsoft Office for review.

The mobile app called CarEconomy is available for the iPhone for free to those that have an iTunes account.  The app shows your average fuel economy and works with any type of gasoline and diesel fuel.  All you have to do is select your vehicle and what units you are measuring in and the app will do the rest.  Keeping you informed of your average fuel economy is a good way to save money on gas.  There are updates to the app that include iPod controls for music and an instantaneous Fuel Economy meter that shows you fuel results to the minute.

The Fuelculator, by RedPrairie Corp., will help you to save money on gas when you are planning a trip.  You can enter the number of gallons your fuel tank takes to be full, what the cost of fuel in your area and the distance in miles that your trip might be.  From there the app calculates how much the trip will cost you.  The application is free of charge and is available to those with an iPhone and an iTunes account.

Road Trip Lite is an application available for the iPhone and is another free app to those that have an iTunes account.  The Road Trip Lite app is a very detailed app that can keep track of your mileage, fuel economy and the expenses you incur for your vehicles maintenance.  All of the data that the app tracks can be saved for your review at a later time; there is no limit to what you can save.  The full version of Road Trip Lite offers features like data import and export to Microsoft Office, trip meter input, and support for more than one vehicle, expense trackers and maintenance alerts.  There is also a new version available that adds to the already long list of features.  This app was added to the app store on July 22, 2011.
