kindlefirehd2013The Kindle Fire HD is arguably the best full-featured tablet PC value, and is definitely one of the most popular tablets this holiday season. And there is no bigger name in cable television than Time Warner. The entertainment conglomerate has very efficiently over the last few years been giving movie and TV lovers more and more ways to enjoy television broadcasts. Just this past week, Amazon and Time Warner Cable announced that TWC’s popular streaming application is now supported by all the Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX Tablets.

The Kindle Fire HD 7″ tablet can be purchased for immediate shipment starting at $139.

The television application will allow Kindle Fire customers access to more than 300 channels of live television broadcast. This includes currently running and out-of-circulation favorites, as well as instant streaming availability to 5,000 on-demand videos when using the Kindle Fire HD tablet at home. Outside of the house, if you own a Kindle Fire HD that Santa Claus recently dropped off, you have access to a smaller selection of movie and television titles, still delivering a more than generous 1,000 on-demand videos and approximately a dozen live TV channels. TWC says they plan on adding streaming on-demand videos and more television channels in the future.

Access will be delivered through an application update that should be hitting your Kindle Fire HD tablet over the next few days. Priced like a value tablet or entry-level selection, the new Kindle Fire HD by Amazon has been popular in both 8 and 16 GB models, with or without special offers. The 1.5 GHz dual core processor running the Kindle Fire HD is faster than on previous Amazon tablets, allowing you to launch applications games and videos quickly, while delivering instant access to over 100,000 games and apps in the Amazon Appstore.

A 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime is given to all brand-new Kindle Fire HD purchasers, offering free two-day shipping and thousands of Prime Instant Video titles. A new feature this year allows you to create multiple profiles for you and your family, setting time limits for your children and yourself through the Kindle FreeTime application. The 7.0 inch touchscreen provides the highest definition of any Amazon tablet to date, offering a 1,280 x 800 High Definition resolution. You can expect longer battery life, a streamlined new design and custom Dolby Audio on the new Kindle Fire HD tablet as well.

Due to the improved processor and other software tweaks, the Kindle Fire HD is 60% faster than the previous generation Kindle tablet. An Imagination PowerVR 3D graphics processor delivers quick and smooth video viewing and game play, which is backed up by 1.0 GB of RAM system memory. The HD touchscreen delivers video playback at 720P True HD resolution, and up to 10 hours of reading, surfing the web, listening to your favorite tunes or watching videos is available from a single battery charge. The new Kindle Fire HD tablet also delivers dual integrated stereo speakers, public and private Wi-Fi network access, and localized location-based services via Wi-Fi. The Kindle Fire HD 7″ tablet can be purchased for immediate shipment starting at $139.

You wouldn’t want to use FreeTime to set time limits for yourself. It would be a poor experience. FreeTime is intended for children.
