The Droid X2 was just released and that has Droid lovers excited enough the way it is, but what if the third generation Droid was released shortly after the X2?  Leaked photos and information say that the Droid X3 is on the way, already.  Last week, leaked photos popped up online and one to make note of was the addition of the number key row on the QWERTY keyboard.  Right now, you are hitting the ALT key, then the key with the corresponding number on it.  Other than that significant change, the phone appears as similar as the Droid X2, until you look on what is on the inside.

A source that has tipped off websites about upcoming phone information, says that the Droid X3 will have a 4-inch quarter-HD screen and possibly a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor.  Other features include a typical HDMI output, front-facing camera and an 8MP camera on the back side.  The much anticipated support for the LTE network does not look very likely.  Some are saying support for the LTE should be coming around sometime next month.  The new Droid X3 looks to be coming in June, but at this point there hasn’t been any information on what price it would be, something that is typically announced officially by the company.

Motorola typically follows up a popular device with the next version rather quickly, like the RAZR.  With the features of the new Droid X2 looking very impressive, it is a wonder what type of changes warrant a new phone version instead of just upgrading software.  The other downfall is the lack of support for the LTE network.  With the technology out there and other phones taking upgrades to the next level, it’s a surprise that a next generation Smartphone will not have the support.

Other than the QWERTY keyboard update, the Droid X3 will make small, but important changes to the speed will be made.  Depending on what processor they go with might determine what improvement there will be in the overall speed.  The camera is better, the screen is larger, and the processor will be faster in the new Droid X3, so it sounds like the X3 will be just as impressive as the Droid X2. Coming in later this month will be more information and an upcoming official announcement from the company will bring more information for the Droid X3.
