HTC has something new to offer to Windows Phone fans. They’ve introduced their HTC 8X phone in addition to the HTC 8S, both of which are a part of their Windows Phone 8 range. What does the new phone have to offer? It features Beats Audio, the exclusive HTC ImageChip technology, HD recording, 28mm wide-angle lens and an f/2.0.

Following their updates on Twitter and Facebook, HTC finally reveled their new phone which will run on the Windows Phone 8 platform, the HTC 8X. This places them in direct competition with Nokia and Samsung while trying to seek popularity among users who want to give Windows Phone 8 a shot.

While the 8X is available in candy colours like blue, red, black, gray and yellow, the 8S is available in blue, red, gray and black. The bottom bit of the slim tapering body of both phones feature a bright strip which is quite eye-catching! 8X has a screen resolution of 1280 by 720, similar to most phones these days, and the 8S’s resolution is slightly lower at 800 by 480. The screen size is 4.3 inches and 4 inches respectively. In this respect, both the phones are smaller than Lumia by Nokia and ATIV S by Samsung.

The 8X comes with a 2.1 megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture, an 88 degree wide angle that comfortably fits in 4 people in the frame and allows the user to capture videos at 1080p. In addition to this, the phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera with a CMOS sensor, the ImageChip technology and produces good quality images even in low light using the backside illumination technology. The 8S, however, does not come with a front-facing camera.

The 8X manages to earn brownie points owing to the Beats Audio feature present in it alongside built-in amplifiers. The 8S falls lacks this feature. Weighing 4.64 ounces, the dimensions are 5.21-by-2.61-by-0.4-inches. Offering a capacity of 16GB, 1GB RAM, dual-core processor of 1.5Hz and a 1,800mAh battery, the phone also supports NFC and LTE technologies.
Though it may be in line with Lumia 920 and ATIVS, with its excellent camera and audio quality and design, will 8X be able to successfully compete with the iPhone 5, is the question. Even if it fails at this, 8X will certainly work well for HTC in trying to pull in more users to try out the Windows Phone 8 platform.
