htconeComputex 2013 awarded the HTC One its Best Device designation, and the 2013 Mobile World Congress gave the phone the Best New Mobile Handset, Device or Tablet award. And Kevin Chang, a Citigroup Global Markets Inc. analyst, predicts that approximately 2 million HTC One smartphones were sold in the first couple of weeks of June. This comes on the heels of 1.2 million units sold in May, double the sales volume from the previous month, when the phone was available for less than two weeks in April. The handset delivers the Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box, and is due for an upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 in July.

The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.

The HTC One 4G Android smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 600 quad core processor. That CPU has been clocked at 1.7 GHz, provides up to 40% more power than the popular Snapdragon S4 Pro, and is part of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T system chip. A full 32 GB of built-in data storage is present, as is a generous 2.0 GB of RAM memory. A powerful Adreno 320 GPU handles the graphics processing, and the phone arrives with a slim 0.37 inch (9.3 mm) profile.

The large Super LCD 3 display that delivers an industry best 468 ppi pixel density measures 4.70 inches, offering a Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Typical capacitive, multitouch gestures are used for navigating the handset, and special proximity and light sensors automate display dimming and screen brightness adjustment, which allows for battery conservation. Corning has provided a second generation layer of Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance, and the HTC One 4G Android smartphone provides ample battery power.

The extended life 2,300 mA cell on the phone offers a full 16.0 hours of talk time and 8.5 hours of video playback after a full charge. A Stereo FM radio with RDS teams up with dual front facing speakers and the exclusive Beats Audio sound enhancement package to provide audio enjoyment. And HTC has created a new camera designation, the UltraPixel, to describe the combination of a 28mm f/2.0 autofocus lens, 1/3-inch BSI sensor and CMOS sensor. This creates the 2.0 UltraPixel camcorder on the back of the HTC One which is capable of absorbing up to 330% more light than the typical smartphone camera.

That rear snapper on the HTC One records video in 1,080P HD resolution, and is also capable of recording slow-motion video in 768 x 432 pixels. Simultaneous video and image capture is offered, as well as a special effects package, optical image stabilization (OIS), a high dynamic range mode (HDR) and self timer. A 2.1 megapixel camera is built into the front of the handset, supporting video chat, Skype and video calls.

The HTC One 4G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $79.99.
