If you happen to be an Android fanboy and a power user for that matter, then CyanogenMod Nightlies are stuff that you may know a whole lot about. For the uninitiated though, these are CyanogenMod ROMs that are largely untested and are not advisable to be used by average smartphone users. However, if you live, speak and breathe rooting and hacking and all that stuff, chances are you have already come across one of these NIghtlies in the past.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE is on sale now starting at 79.99.

Credit for this goes to Kushdeck over at XDA Developers but he confirmed that this is still not as stable as we would want it to be and there are a couple of things that are not yet working on this build.

For one, HD video capture is still a no-go for this build. Also, there are cases when MMS wouldn’t get downloaded. Another issue is that switching between camera modes can sometime cause the Gallery to force close. There are still s couple of other wrinkles that need to be ironed out on this version of CM10 Nightly for the HTC EVO 4G LTE but early adopters who have already flashed this onto their devices attest to the fact that this build smokes HTC Sense in terms of speed and performance. And since this build is based on AOSP, it also has better overall usability compared to the Sense custom user interface of HTC.

As mentioned earlier, this type of released are only for advanced power users so if you happen to be of the faint of heart, then you are better off sticking to the stock experience that comes with your Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE. But if you happen to be brave and adventurous and did not give much thought about risks such as voiding your warranty or turning your device to an expensive paper weight, then you can go ahead and do your thing and get this flashed onto your HTC EVO 4G LTE.

As for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, the handset already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system and this draws power from the QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset of the device. This type of SoC brings to the table a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor, a full gigabyte of RAM and a dedicated Adreno 225 GPU for messy graphical situations. The internal storage of the handset is pegged at 16GB but a microSD card in its chassis enables memory expansion of the device. Its display on the other hand is a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 panel with an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper – both of which are capable of capturing videos at 1080p and 720p, respectively.
