When Verizon announced the addition of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE to the carrier’s lineup of Android-powered devices about one and a half months ago, the wireless provider confirmed during the announcement that the handset will hit the shelves in the coming weeks. Being launched in the shadow of the Samsung Galaxy S III, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE had diminishing prospects of making it big the longer it waits before it makes its debut in the shelves of Verizon.

The last word we heard about the projected release date of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE was June 21. Since the date has already come and gone, there can only be two possibilities here – either the information that got leaked was erroneous or there is a delay in the release schedule of the handset. According to a reliable source, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE’s failure to debut in the shelves of Verizon last Thursday has been caused by a delay – this despite the fact that signages and marketing materials for the handset have already been delivered to the brick and mortar stores and retail locations of the carrier as early as two weeks ago.

With regard to its new launch date, rumors have it that the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE will make its first appearance in the shelves of Verizon on July 5. With this late release date, the handset only has 5 days to basically make a mark before the Samsung Galaxy S III hits the shelves. With that turn of events, the delay of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE launch might have been simply unavoidable that Verizon had no choice but to release the handset so close to the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

As for the price point of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, the leaked MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) List from Verizon intimates that the handset will be offered to the smartphone-buying public for $149.99 after a mail-in rebate of $50. Of course, it is to be expected that this price point includes a new two-year agreement with Verizon for that matter.

As for the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, the handset packs support for the LTE network of Verizon and has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset under the hood. This SoC brings dual-core capabilities to the handset via its dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space of the handset comes up to 8GB with an option to have it expanded using the microSD card slot of the device. Its display on the other hand is a 4.0-inch SuperLCCD panel made from Gorilla Glass with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Its camera department on the other hand outfits the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE with a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.

  1. No one in their right mind would buy this peice of crap with all the crazy phones with way better specs at the same price coming in less than a week…HTC and verizon must not be getting along first no One X now this?

  2. Mike, have you ever considered that maybe people who do not want a huge screen may like the phone? All of the other phones have huge screen compared to this one.

  3. I can’t wait for this phone! Just the right size just as good as the One series on the best carrier! HTC Sense blows away Samsung touchwiz and whatever Motorola calls their crappy intrface now! This phone couldn’t come soon enough! Mike must be happy with his Old lame iPhone on the worst of the worst AT&T!

  4. I for one can’t wait for this phone! I love my Dinc and agree with Richie. A large screen may be good for some, but when you have small hands, a small phone is wonderful. I don’t have any problem with the size of the screen.

  5. Thank you Jen. What many people don’t realize is the larger the screen the more juice gets drained from the battery. So basically a 1750 mAh battery on a 4 inch screen is much more sufficient then a 2100 MAh battery on a screen 4.5 or larger besides the fact that these smart phones are getting so big as of late, it is impossible to find a case or pouch that they will fit in, and who want to carry a brick in their pocket anyway? I made the mistake using my upgrade and got the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx after using HTC for years. What a mistake! The 3300 mAh battery isn’t as good as you would think, the phone dimensions feel awkward and it is difficult to manipulate with one hand, the radio transmitter is weak… has 2 bars at best and constantly drops down to 3G. While my wife has the HTC Rezound and always has 5 bars and 4G connectivity…How I miss HTC! I will buy the Droid Inc 4G outright if I have to!
