htcdroiddnaWith phones like the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, LG Intuition and Sony Xperia Z offering displays of 5.0 inches or larger, extra large high resolution screens are beginning to become the rule rather than the exception in the mobile marketplace. In the past, 4.0 inches was deemed large for a smartphone display, and a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels was the best that the market had to offer. Now 4.0 inches, while more than adequate for most smartphone shoppers, has rapidly become the smallest acceptable size for a mobile handset screen.

The HTC Droid DNA is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

And while 540 x 960 pixel resolution is outstanding considering what we were offered only a couple of years ago, it pales in comparison to the 720P True HD and 1080P Full HD screens that are showing up on phones like the HTC Droid DNA 4G. And that HTC Droid DNA 4G Android smartphone delivering the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is the first handset to ever offer a 5.0 inch Full HD 1,080P display to the US. The handset hit the Verizon 4G LTE network in the late November of last year, and has quickly become a flagship device for Big Red.

The phone arrives in a very sleek form factor, sporting the popular HTC Sense user interface. A powerful quad core processor is on board, as well as twice the average amount of RAM system memory for a smartphone. HTC has made the phone unique in appearance, ensconcing the seamless laminated screen with distinctive red side grills and a rugged, polycarbonate unibody. While HTC has released several popular and best selling handsets the last couple of years, they do have a “signature phone”.

The company has pulled out all the stops in developing the HTC Droid DNA 4G, making no qualms about their intent to go head-to-head with popular bestsellers like the Samsung Galaxy S III and Apple iPhone 5. With the features package and hardware on board the handset, it is easy to argue that the Droid DNA compares more than favorably to those two smartphones. Compared to the 4.80 inch screen (306 pixels per inch) on the Galaxy S III, and the 4.0 inch display on the Apple iPhone 5 (326 pixels per inch), pixel density on the Droid DNA is fabulous, at 441 pixels per inch, currently the best that the entire smartphone marketplace has to offer.

A Snapdragon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor joins 2.0 GB of RAM memory and 16 GB of built-in storage in the handset’s hardware package, and the 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 display runs 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. 16 million colors are present on the scratch resistant display, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder captures all your video memories in 1,080P HD resolution.

You can purchase the HTC Droid DNA at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
