htcdroiddnaArriving on November 21 of last year just in time to make a splash during the important holiday shopping season, the HTC Droid DNA helped start a current trend in the smartphone marketplace. One of the first handsets to deliver a large 5.0 inch display with Full HD 1,080P resolution, the handset also delivers the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box. That coveted OS is wrapped with the efficient HTC Sense user interface, and the standard multitouch, capacitive gestures you use on your current handset are supported.

The HTC Droid DNA is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

The HTC Droid DNA is a 4G capable smartphone running on the Verizon Wireless LTE network in the United States, and offers a slim profile without sacrificing features or hardware. The powerful quad core CPU runs the show, the handset delivers twice the amount of RAM memory as the average smartphone, and that is all packaged in a light and tough polycarbonate unibody design. The handset comes with attractive red side grills and a seamless laminated screen that eliminates reflection. Also extending the device’s portability, built-in wireless charging is on board.

The new handsets in 2013 are pushing the limits of mobile display resolution and display size for smartphones, and the 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 screen offers an overall resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. That comes at an industry leading 441 pixels per inch, and that pixel density compares favorably to the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S III (306 ppi pixel density on a 4.8 inch screen) and Apple iPhone 5 (326 ppi and 4.0 inch display) smartphones.

The CPU is a Snapdragon 1.5 GHz quad core processor, and it teams up with an Adreno 320 graphics processor to provide excellent speed and visuals, which are displayed to wonderful effect in the preloaded HD fantasy realm game Reign of Amira. The handset is slim at 0.38 inches (9.73 mm), and the HTC Droid DNA 4G has a protective scratch resistant layer of glass over the display. Standby battery power lasts approximately 14.6 days, and the 2,020 mA battery provides up to 12.6 hours of talk time from a single charge.

A full 2.0 GB of RAM memory has been built-in, as has 16.0 GB of data storage space. Built into the back of the Droid DNA 4G is an 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and it joins a front facing chat cam in the camera combo. That rear snapper is capable of capturing up to four shots per second, and also recording simultaneous high definition video and images. Resolution runs 1,080P HD when recording video, and the front facing chat cam can be used for video calls. The handset offers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box, and the full range Beats Audio sound package has been installed.

You can purchase the Droid DNA at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
