HTC confirms Sense 5.5 update for HTC One in United States

htconeThe HTC One was released earlier this year and since then it has grown in popularity all over the world even as the new Samsung and Apple devices hit the market after it.  The HTC One is a solid device with high end specs that are worth the upgrade when it comes to a new device.  One of the more talked about features that comes with the HTC One is the Sense user interface and according to one online source, the HTC One is about to get the Sense 5.5 update.

The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $19.99.

Those that have the popular 4.7-inch smartphone in the United States will be getting the Sense 5.5 sooner than later as HTC finally confirmed that information for consumers this week.  According to the President of HTC, the company is working on the “building plans and working on scheduling’ for the update and it should be ready to download and install in the next month.  Sense 5.5 is going to bring plenty of updates to the user interface and was originally announced along side of the HTC One Max.  The software is rumored to be coming to the HTC Butterfly, HTC Butterfly S and the Droid DNA on the Verizon Wireless network.

The schedules that are getting worked out are for the Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless networks with the exact release dates to be revealed in the next month.  HTC was first rumored to be getting the Sense 5.5 update to those in the United States by the end of the year and by the looks of the progression of things, that looks very possible.  The update is a larger one and should be bringing updates to BlinkFeed including integration with Instagram, Google+ and RSS feeds.

Sense 5.5 will also bring a new offline reading mode, plus a multi-edition mode that allows you to ready news in more than one language.  HTC Zoe will also be getting improvements with the software, including capability to put together slideshows with background music.  With Android 4.4 KitKat coming soon, it could be that Sense 5.5 will arrive around the same time, but that has not been confirmed at this time.  The HTC One brings a 4.7-inch, 1080p HD display, quad-core processor from Qualcomm and a 4MP UltraPixel camera on the back side.  Support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connections, NFC, DLNA and HDMI are also included.
