Back when Sprint announced the addition of the HTC EVO 4G LTE to its lineup of Android-powered smartphones, the Now Network boasted that one of the main selling points of the handset is the NFC component in its chassis that enabled it to support Google Wallet. For the uninitiated, Google Wallet is a mobile payment system that enables a user of the HTC EVO 4G LTE to use the handset to pay for his purchases by just tapping the handset to a mobile payment terminal for cashless shopping and spending.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

And for the users of the HTC EVO 4G LTE who constantly use the Google Wallet functionality of their smartphone, we have a great piece of news for you guys today. An update is headed to the Google Wallet which will bring improvements not only to its user interface but under the hood enhancements as well. Once the update is applied, the interface of the feature will be aligned with Holo UI guidelines that put navigation tabs at the upper part of its interface. In addition to that, the update will also put an overflow settings button designed to hold other extra functions of the feature.

When accessing the cards added to Google Wallet, you will no longer see a list of all the cards in there but instead get to them by tapping the “My Wallet” tab that displays only your default card. A button on the first page of the feature will also get you direct access to “My Offers” while going to the “Explore” tab will bring to new offers.

The update will also bring enhancements to the application stability of Google Wallet and the way it consumes battery life. Though no specifics are given, all these are great improvements to the feature and with Google Wallet going through several facelifts since its launch, we can say that the current UI of the feature brought by this update is definitely by far the best we’ve seen.

As for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, the handset gained infamy when it was detained at the US Customs while the International Trade Commission subjected it to a thorough once over after Apple filed a lawsuit claiming that the HTC handset infringed on some of its patents. The handset is one of the more capable devices in the portfolio of Sprint and it has its circuitry built around its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which brings into play a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and a full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space onboard the device is pegged at 16GB but the HTC EVO 4G LTE comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. Display-wise, the handset comes with a SuperIPS LCD 2 panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its shooting department includes an 8MP shooter at its back panel and a front 1.3MP snapper at its front bezel.

You can purchase the HTC Evo 4G LTE at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
