nexus5bThe Amazon Wireless store is always busy this time of year, and holiday shoppers can thank the world’s largest online retailer for extending its Cyber Monday sale pricing forward into the holiday season. Amazon is calling this week the Cyber Monday Deals Week, and the company has decided to continue offering the Google Nexus 5 smartphone running on the Sprint 4G LTE network for around $19 on contract, when purchased through the Amazon Wireless store online.

The Google Nexus 5 16GB is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $9.99 – $449.99.

That low-end price tag is attached to a high-end smartphone which has been measured as one of the fastest in the entire mobile marketplace. The handset also delivers extremely high pixel density and resolution to its 5.0 inch display, generous RAM memory and high resolution video capture. The Google Nexus 5 for Sprint is also one of the first phones to deliver Android’s 4.4 version of its operating system, nicknamed KitKat, out-of-the-box.

The phone debuted on the last day of October, and offers multiple wireless connectivity options through Bluetooth 4.0, multiple Wi-Fi channels, NFC and DLNA technologies. And unlike many big screen phones which deliver powerful hardware packages and extended life batteries, the phone is not heavy, fat or clunky. Overall dimensions run 5.43 x 2.72 x 0.34 inches (137.84 x 69.17 x 8.59 mm) on the Google Nexus 5, and the phone weighs in at a lightweight 4.59 ounces (130 g). That makes the Sprint Nexus 5 slimmer and lighter than other phones with a 5.0 inch display.

The Full HD screen in question delivers an outstanding 445 pixels per inch to the IPS LCD display, for an overall resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. More than 16 million colors can be found on that screen, which carries a layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against drops and chips. Special light and proximity sensors are also built in, helping the 2,300 mA battery on board the phone deliver up to 17.0 hours of talk time after a full charge. The Nexus 5 has an 8.0 megapixel sensor on its main camera, and that snapper is capable of dual recording with the front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam.

Video is recorded in 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second, with the rear shooter offering face detection, a multishot burst mode, a wide angle panorama mode, digital zoom and self timer. Qualcomm has contributed a speedy Snapdragon 800 central processor which has been clocked at a blazing 2.3 GHz, while an Adreno 330 GPU handles the graphics processing. 2.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is 16 GB of built-in data storage space.

The Google Nexus 5 16GB can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $9.99 – $449.99.
