It is pretty obvious that at the moment, the Samsung Galaxy  S III is the hottest handset currently available in the market today. Since its release, the rise of the Samsung flagship device to the top of the smartphone leaderboards is already expected given the impressive components and capabilities that the handset brings to the table. This is the same reason as to why the demand for the Samsung Galaxy  S III was so overwhelming and something we haven’t seen in a while. Looking back, preorders for the handset have reached 9 million units in just a couple of days after it was announced back in the early parts of May. Because of that, a shortage of handsets was seen which further led to delays in the release of the handset to the shelves. All that though is behind us now and our smartphone-crazed brethren have finally gotten their chance to play with the Samsung superphone.

If you happen to have Sprint for your wireless provider of choice and are rocking the carrier’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S III, you might already have experienced getting all sorts of emergency notifications on your device. These could range from Presidential alerts to hurricane warnings to AMBER alerts for missing people but what is annoying is that these notifications arrive at all hours and can even wake you up from your peaceful slumber in the middle of the night. This is because Sprint signed up for the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) of the National Weather Service, hence you are getting these notifications.

If you find your life getting interrupted more and more by these notifications on your Samsung Galaxy  S III, you actually have the option to have this feature disabled on your smartphone and restore some semblance of normalcy to your life without having to hear about catastrophes that are several states away from your location.

All you have to do is to access the Messaging app on your Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III to get this disabled. Just head on over to Messaging > Settings > look for the Emergency Alerts option and you now have the choice to uncheck all sorts of notifications that you don’t want bothering your peaceful existence. You can’t disable Presidential alerts though because that is too important and the option is grayed out so you’re stuck with that.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S III, the handset is a veritable beast under the hood with its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset under the hood. This SoC brings to the handset a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and this works with a 2GB of RAM for a flawless performance on the handset. The storage space on the handset comes up to 16GB but you still have the option to have this expanded by using the dedicated microSD card slot of the Samsung Galaxy S III. The display of the Samsung Galaxy S III on the other hand is a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front-facing 1.9MP video call camera. The Sprint Galaxy S III has recently experienced a price drop at select authorized online retailers, and while we’re not allowed to advertise the reduced price, we can tell you it will turn your head and maybe even turn out to be jaw dropping.  View the recently reduced Galaxy S III price tag.
